The ocean covers over 70% of our planet, yet we know more about the surface of the moon than we do the sea. About 95 percent of this underwater realm is unseen by human eyes.
Thanks to advances in technology, scientists are emerging into an era of discovery and are making immense progress towards understanding the wonders and complexities of our oceans. We are also moving forward in embracing the challenges associated with protecting them.
At Ocean Imaging, we bring ocean science to you.
We work with scientists to communicate breaking research in an engaging format. To make an impact we need to be connected with our inner space. Education is a catalyst for connection. So we’re here to help scientists be seen, be heard and be understood.
We would love to be able to create more content, publish more videos for scientists and educators. However, the Ocean Imaging team all have ‘real jobs’ and do this work as volunteers and on holidays because it’s our passion.
There’s this great new thing called Patreon. It’s a crowdfunding platform like Kickstarter but it works on a monthly basis and smaller amounts. If we get more money through Patreon, we can spend more time interviewing scientists and making educational videos to share the collective knowledge and understanding of our oceans in real time.
A few things for potential clients to understand:
We are not just divers. As marine biologists with in field experience, we specialise in scientific communication. We do our research, know what questions to ask and how to break down complicated messages.
We are not go pro armed diving enthusiasts. We have thousands of dives of experience diving in a range of ocean conditions from tropical to polar waters. We shoot with professional underwater video equipment and have the training and confidence to capture the action when it’s happening.
We are not just underwater videographers. We produce, direct and edit video for scientific, educational and promotional purposes. Our services also include shooting stills, topside and interviews. We also provide local knowledge and dive supervision services.
Bottom line is, we are flexible in what we do and happy to go the extra mile to make sure we deliver the product you are after. Please get in touch with us today with your enquiry.
