Ocean Imaging are not only underwater media specialists but we are also qualified scientists and educators. As marine biologists with in-field experience, we know how scientists work, what questions to ask and how to break down complicated messages. We shoot with professional underwater video equipment and have the training and confidence to capture the action when it’s happening.

What is the video production process?

At Ocean Imaging, we’ll take you through a 3 stage process consisting of pre-production (what you are filming and why); production (the actual shoot); and post-production (editing, inserting graphics & text and so on). The video production house will export the video into your desired format and file size for upload to the web and we even upload the videos for you direct to your video host of choice.

Will we own the footage?

Yes. Basic packages include all raw footage. Edited videos of different time durations can be added for a nominal fee.

What services do you provide?

In short: We produce, direct and edit video for scientific, educational and promotional purposes.

We specialise but are not limited to underwater video. Our services also include shooting stills, topside and interviews. We can provide local knowledge and supervise diving to the highest safety standards.

How can underwater video make a difference to my business?

How much do your services cost?

Our prices are highly competitive. Each shoot will vary in price depending on location, delivery and complexity of the job. Day rates start at $399 AUD + $250 AUD dive fee.

Is one videographer really enough?

This really depends on the type of coverage that you’re after. Most of the time one videographer is sufficient. For underwater shoots, we require a standby diver.

Do you license music?

Yes. We work with a range of partners to licence unique and specialised audio for videos.

Do we get to choose the music?

Yes. We will give you the opportunity to select music of your preference based on an extensive collection of thousands of licensable clips. If you would prefer us to choose the music, we’re happy to do that too.

Where are you located?

Our office is based in Sydney Australia but we also have team members in America, Asia and Europe.

Will it cost my company more to shoot outside of Australia?

Shoot costs will vary depending on how remote shoot locations are, and flight costs  relative to the location of our nearest team members.

What if I’m only after some specific footage?

We have a growing online collection of stock footage with over 1300 underwater clips. If you have any specific requests please contact us and we can arrange delivery and licensing. If you’re after multiple clips, please get in touch with us directly and we may be able to organise discounted rates.

Can Ocean Imaging help reach an audience?

Yes. We have a large social media presence on Faceboook, Twitter and Instagram. We promote videos, projects and partners by sharing material through these mediums.

How quickly can I see footage after the event?

We will upload a preview reel within 24h of shoot. We will also provide on request a social media package with photos / sample clips on shoot day.

What is your turnaround time on edits?

We specialise in fast turnaround edits. Depending on the complexity of the project and demand, we can turnaround edits in anywhere from a few hours to a few days.

How long have you been shooting underwater?

Between the Ocean Imaging team members, we collectively have over ten thousand dives of experience logged in over fifty countries.

Are you insured?

Yes. We have dive professional liability insurance.
